Today’s book haul! #books
July Book Haul! Now all I need to do is find a good spot for them on the shelf and decided which one to read first.
An above average book haul today.
I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anymore books this month so naturally I went out and bought books this month.
Dave’s mini book haul. The new C.J. Box book and Love Letters to the Dead, which has been long-listed for our Mock Printz this year.
And the Woodland Community Library, the northernmost branch of the Fort Vancouver Regional Library. The Woodland library is cute but a bit too small and is on the district’s priority list for a new building. The current building was built in 1909 and, among other things, was once the high school science building.
Steph says: “The Mission Bay branch of the San Francisco Public Library may be small, but it’s still a really great library. For one thing, it’s sandwiched between a coffee shop and a park, so I’ve got the ultimate trifecta of Sundayrelaxation in one block. On its own, it has great selection considering the branch size, but since the San Francisco Public Library system is awesome, I can rely on it for pretty much any book I’m looking for. This is a pretty typical book haul for me: some research books for the creative projects I’m working on and a few books for pleasure. All that’s missing are my graphic novel holds, which haven’t come in yet (this is what happens when you’re waiting for the latest volume of Saga). Also, see that library card? One of my favorite things about SFPL is that you can choose from about four different styles of card, all designed by kids (there’s a plain version too, if you hate fun). Mine makes me smile every time I use it.”
